Christian Poems
Rejoice Unto the Lord
I enjoyed hearing the saints singing on the highest mount.
The harmony and sweet melodies of hymns, I often recount.
All the men would hum in unison with such passion and a plea.
As the women in the choir sang aloud, with a heavenly glee.
O’ sing me a song of Jesus, sing me a song of my King.
Let us all sing His praises; let the church bells ring.
Heaven awaits God’s children, redeemed at the cross.
I cast away my fleshly desires with an everlasting toss.
May God guide me throughout life with a spiritual embrace.
He washed away my abhorred sins from every guilty trace.
To shake away this mortal shell, to kneel before the Lord.
Homeward, I march on; the Master is calling me forward.
Prayer Warriors
To abide continually in Christ draws us to a ministry on our knees.
Close our prayer closet in secret to share all burdens and agonies.
Greet God with thanks for all His blessings and answered prayers.
Join Him regularly throughout the day; God knows who truly cares.
Siblings, let us make intercessory prayer for the lost and the needy.
Hold not back your pleas and petitions for our LORD is not greedy.
At Hell's Gate
Living on death row, shackled in sin.
The devils and inmates wore my time thin.
I’ve heard a faint knock many times before.
But near my end, life’s Judge knocked once more.
Chained down, I cried out in repentance beyond my walls.
Then Jesus left the door ajar when He heard my calls.
My restraints fell as I crawled and bowed before His feet.
When He reached down, it was my soul He waited to greet.
From Darkness To Light
Jesus led me out of sin’s greatest hollow.
Now, wherever He leads me, I will follow.
I was in anguish, a spiritual depth of gloom.
Outside His Gospel light, I could not bloom.
God’s truth reached within the core of my soul.
As I believed and repented, He made me whole.
The Home Last Sought
O Lord God, I am sorry for the man I’ve been.
I walked a road of filth, burying my feet deep within.
Carelessly I lived, I faltered and often fell into sin.
Forgive me this day, Christ Jesus, I repent, take me in.
Redeeming Faith
I’ve got faith in Jesus
Deep within my soul
The fellowship of the Spirit
A Gospel that makes one whole
Obtaining salvation is a simple matter
Yet, it’s often a difficult task
Setting aside your pride
To remove the liar’s mask
Saying LORD, I am a sinner
And that’s at my best
Save my dear soul
And lay my burdens to rest
Troubled Times
Life is a river, winding, weary and gray.
Only God can clear these waters, washing the trash and debris away.
The rains pour hard the mud runs deep.
The waters are now above my head; I can’t see or feel my feet.
The waters are icy cold; I feel my ship has sunk.
My head is no longer bobbing; I feel I’ve taken my final dunk.
Wait, I feel the water receding as my feet find solid ground.
Listen closely, the rain is subsiding; for the moment, I’m safe and sound.
I can see the sun beginning to rise as I sigh a sigh of relief.
God has calmed the waters and planted a rock beneath my feet.
Hat
They told me to remove my hat,
At the temple.
For this,
I didn’t understand.
Aren’t our bodies the temple,
For which the church stands?
The church isn’t a building,
But instead the group within.
So why must I remove my hat,
From the presence of my friends?
God’s Endless Grace
It was the darkest and tempest of nights that broke into the most glorious day.
With my hands clenched tightly together; humbly bowed to the Lord, did I pray.
The Lord exposed my sinful state, and yet the Devil tempted me even more.
Then the preacher spoke to me of the cross in which he had me to explore.
Satan whispered you are destined to burn, and God is through with you.
So I laid my hands upon the Bible and prayed to Jesus to see me through.
It was then I tearfully repented as I jumped up with a heavenly cry.
“I do... I do believe in the Gospel of Jesus, this I can no longer deny.”
Ol’ Lucifer crept away with his inner hopes caved in.
As I went home rejoicing, “I'm saved, I'm SAVED within!"
When Broken and Shattered
When peace of mind is far-off, and sorrows of life are born.
Draw closer to the Saviour for your heart does truly mourn.
If depression is your companion and all hope seems forever lost.
Reflect upon God's eternal promises and what they once cost.
Pray for a spiritual resolution, a guide and a Christian friend.
Give all your burdens to the Lord and allow your spirit to mend.
Within the pages of the Bible is where absolute comfort is known.
It is through prayer and repentance that God's mercies are shown.
So surrender your sins to Jesus and draw nigh to the Cross.
Accept God's healing and give your miseries a lasting toss.
Fallen Creation
My spirit cries out, and my soul does mourn.
Humanity is broken, as very few are reborn.
It grieves me greatly to see the world so blind.
Hell enlarges for it consumes much of mankind.
What more can I do? Oh, what else can I say?
I know... I'll spread the Gospel this very day!
Jesus lived, died and arose for the price of our sins.
Believing in this is where the essence of truth begins.
Repent of your wicked state and from your sins depart.
Give the Saviour your life to allow your true joy to start.
The Death of Me
Jesus Christ is my God, my Saviour, and my King.
To make this plain... He is my Hope in everything.
I once held myself as my own idol, I now know I was blind.
I was all about me, me, me; I believed I was one of a kind.
The devil had me ignorant, self-centered and puffed up in pride.
For I needed a spiritual cleansing, my sinful state, I could not hide.
The road was long and difficult, but the sweet Saviour; I did find.
My Lord washed away my sins and brought comfort to my mind.
To God's glory, I’ve been saved, washed and forever redeemed.
The Master's friendship is more dear to me than I ever dreamed.
Now I stand in total awe’ not of an idol, but my eternal God.
For during salvation, Christ made me part of His family squad.
A Servant's Prayer
Lord, mold this mangled life into a living sacrifice unto Thee.
Place me on life’s battlefield where all Christians ought to be.
Nurse me within Thy haven, from Thy side, I pray I’ll never flee.
It’s here we’re strengthened for the battles we’re destined to see.
If I’m to become a martyr and heaven knows this could be true.
Allow my final acts and words to show the love and respect that's due.
Pursuing the Fellowship of God
Take my life, O Lord, that I may plainly see.
That Thou art my God, and I am a child of Thee.
Thy words are pure words, that forever guide my way.
Renew in me a fresh breath of life to face another day.
Thy Holy Spirit directs my path at every step I take.
He comforts my soul while stronger men begin to break.
I'll serve Thy begotten Son Jesus with the extent of my life.
Through His sacrifice, I relinquished all eternal pain and strife.
Backslidden and Redeemed
No matter how far I’ve strayed or where I’ve gone,
the Lord has protected me from many snares.
Throughout the difficult storms and spiritual nights,
my Lord Jesus has always shown He cares.
Even in the darkest depths of my life,
God’s heavenly light has dimly shown through.
The Master broke through my old calloused heart
for its defenses; He withdrew.
Now I walk the straight and narrow path,
wherein my willful sins I no longer trod.
I became tired and fed up of all life’s failures,
So I eagerly handed them over to God.
Sin’s Deadly Roots
Satan beguiled Eve; she had no justification about.
Her actions were outright grievous, sinful no doubt.
Then when Adam followed suit everything changed.
The two’s relationship with God became estranged.
Their descendants are no different; we've sinned too.
Eve started a spiritual rift that only the cross can undo.
There is still good news and great things to exclaim.
To rejoice thankfully in the glorious Saviour's name.
Jesus made a free way for us all if we don't decline.
The hefty price He paid for all of us fallen mankind.
Our Lord paved a road so marvelous; a path so grand.
That leads His followers onward to the Promised Land.
Dear God
Mold me into the shape, manner, fashion, and form you’d have me be.
Hide not Thy loving hand of mercy to grant this bold, but humble plea.
I desire not to be a vessel of dishonor a handy work or masterpiece of sin.
I choose Thy gift of life over death, the world, and iniquities that wear me thin.
Jesus, this is my prayer for intervention I ask for the strength to break through.
I bow before Thee broken and shattered to ask to be forged and rebuilt anew.
Facing Judgment and Hell
When you die, and your soul stands before God;
to be judged with the damned for your rejection abroad.
The anguish of truth and reality will harshly set in,
concerning your lost condition in a life of rebellion of sin.
To be tried at judgment by the deeds that you have done.
To have denied God’s convictions and word, to hell you run.
If you could only see the blazing fire that does await;
where so many others before you have met their fate.
It would be hard to overcome and shake your fear.
I pray you’ll believe the gospel and to God draw near.
The torments of hell are beyond our imagination and thought.
However, there is a perfect joy and peace that Jesus brought.
Biblical Christians
We’re no miracle workers just servants of the Lord.
Not your guardian angels just followers of His word.
Daily prayer warriors and soldiers we’re called to be.
To live out our acts and deeds for Jesus who set us free.
Mourning Damsel
Her cries as silent as the night shedding dew.
Broken to tears of emotion she's fallen blue.
My fair maiden, why do you tearfully fret?
Do you have a besetting sin, loss, or regret?
What is it that draws your mood astray?
Is it the young preacher moving away?
He's set his grip on a neighboring church.
It's not too far to visit his new little perch.
Daughter
Have I not wept a thousand tears for you?
Comforting your fears the best I could do.
Now you're going to marry that godly man.
Do as your mother, serve God as you can.
Who knew? You loved the preacher's boy.
You both are such a blessing, a well of joy.
Change Within
If I were steadfast and honest as Thou truly art;
In good faith and truthfulness, I’d dare not part.
What is a sin if not the contrariness to Thine will?
Remove my rotten core O’ Lord, I humbly kneel.
Times Past
When I consider how my days have been spent;
The moments and hours forever lapsed and lent.
I care not to repeat much of what I’ve done.
Past acts of sin multiplied, grown, and spun.
But we mustn’t forget the experiences we've shared.
The ones with God, family, and with those who cared.
Salvation
The hallowed road that scriptures paved;
God's doctrinal truths have all been laid.
Now, I carry His Holy Spirit night and day.
I plea to the lost, step into the gospel way.
God's Firmaments
Oh beauty, such heavenly beauty we do behold.
Galaxies far off filled with stars and stories of old.
Through lensed marvels, men have hungrily sought.
The wondrous glimmers, Thou have surely wrought.
Backslidden
Jesus, lift this fallen man forsook by his own.
A soul tormented by reason left to die alone.
The heart that cries out—let all be judged and forgiven.
I humbly repent to God and put my hope in the Risen.
The End Awaits Us All
I saw death, but death knew me not,
It darkened my path; it closed the plot.
Not my end, but this flesh will descend.
But heaven-bound, my soul will ascend.
The Lord and I await this blessed fate.
Before the Celestial City, I’ll enter His gate.
Our Loss is Heaven’s Gain
It’s hard to explain how deep my sorrows burrow their grief.
Shall I wilt and wither, just to blow away like an autumn leaf?
Since your departure, people reflect on their time spent with you.
We repeat our highlighted stories that help remove the blue.
Your lasting memories are keepsakes I store away in my heart.
Our past is like a creative collage that some would even call art.
Others notice this cavity, a raw, open void of hurt left inside me.
My depth of pain would almost take a mountain-sized drill to see.
The sadness your absence birthed within us all is alive and near.
Now your soul awaits for your Christian siblings to depart from here.
You are so missed in this great gulf and our temporary separation.
One day, we’ll be together again based on our testimony of salvation.
O’ Wretched Sinner
Thou deeds were cunning; thou deceitful acts were great.
Thou works considered the works of a genius here of late.
Thou spoke with blasphemous lips for God thou abhorred.
In Hellfire thou awoke to burn for the sins thou once adored.
The Christian Circle
I seek out the fellowship of the humble and meek;
A heavenly fold of Christians, the Jew, and the Greek.
I start out daily, not on standing feet, but bowing knees.
In hopes that God will move within me like a gentle breeze.
Our Tarnished Walks
In my sins, I've often backtracked;
For the devils kept me sidetracked.
I lied, cheated, and stole, and often I fail.
Brother, I deserve the hottest pit in hell.
This is what them old demons do you see.
They tempt the sinner within you and me.
May I build all my future rewards in God.
A call to vigilance not to turn away or nod.
Before the Throne of God
Lord, I tremble as I seek to hide my face from Thee.
Bowed in repentance and weighed down in humility.
I have sinned and trespassed against Thy heavenly Will.
Submitted unto temptation and its wicked devilish thrill.
In His Presence
My thoughts are congested as a wanting crowd.
Oh, hush, my dear soul, why art thou so loud?
Focus upon the Lord in His word and prayer.
I surrender my inner being to Jesus' every care.
Sin and the Devil Crept in
I saw old Lucifer hanging around your way.
I thought if you repent, your family might stay.
I hunkered down hard on my knees and prayed.
Then I read about your scandals as they laid.
As I prayed, you and the Devil went out to play.
I desired for our once strong fellowship to stay.
Now, your home life is torn and broken asunder.
Broke and homeless you are forced to plunder.
Repented
I once wandered far away from the grace of God.
Lower than the maggots in sins dark gutters I trod.
Now, I live my life not as careless, fruitless, and vain;
I've given my life to Jesus, who removed every stain.
Heavenly Route
God is my Compass North, South, East, and West.
His Holy Spirit is the Comforter that gives me rest.
I’m following the Bible, I’ve put away my known sins.
Surrendering all to Jesus is where the journey begins.
The End Stage
Our soul and earthly eyes are vigilantly seeking;
Tiredly, we sow while the watchers are peeking.
One day this labor and persecution will end in sorrow,
Working through the night it will soon be tomorrow.
The tyrants will imprison true conservatives and churchgoers.
In time the government will set flames against God’s followers,
Fret not, the shadows of darkness will soon be past and gone,
The trail and blood of the saints will continue marching on.
The Marriage of the Lamb
The greatest love ever shown was by God the Father and His Son.
Never in all of humanity's acts of selfless beauty has it been outdone.
Their story is written in the living word that must be shared and told.
The Gospel of Jesus foretells of Salvation that's forthright and bold.
Have you read God’s word and know the absolute unquestionable truth?
Jesus Christ died for us all, there’s no hidden secret or Biblical untruth.
Rest assured He will soon return to gather His long-awaited bride;
Our homecoming is near; heaven-bound the clouds will open wide.
A family gathering and reunion no Christian will miss is the rapture on high.
God will judge us by our works, but there will be no departing goodbye.
The Poet’s Testimony
For being reborn, I know that I've been,
As others; I walked a hardened road of sin.
People saw the heartaches that I brought,
From the wicked passions from which I sought.
There was much sound truth, I had not taken,
Till the sorrow birthed within my soul did awaken.
Now I'm overjoyed, I found my only Lord and King,
Jesus Christ, He causes me to rejoice and sing.
Sin and Disbelief
Lord, please look vigilantly over my heart,
It’s here where most unbelief gets its start.
I see other people’s hope and faith a fading,
In their draw to sin, they are deeply wading.
Sweet Child of Ours
She came forth to bud, but we were not to see her bloom.
To our greatest loss, she was never to blossom or groom.
O’ dear child, in our Lord’s presence, you’ll forever be.
Earth’s heartaches you were not intended to face or see.
Our Little One
Forsaken — our dear child has gone away,
To a place much fonder than a fruitful stay.
During thine absence, we’ll plan and pray,
Of that reunion, when I forever shout hooray.
Lord, Help Me Finish My Course
Stumbling by the wayside in the filth of sin.
Where humanity has fallen again and again.
Brother, let not Satan sway you by his ways.
Be persuaded to godliness in these last days.
Jesus, my God, Thou art my LORD, and King.
You bring me heavenly songs I love to sing.
I’ll honor and praise Thee with all my heart.
You’re the Alpha and Omega, I’ll not depart.
Fallen In A State Of Sin
There is a fault in humanity that all men lie.
A cunning tongue of deceit we often apply.
The contempt towards others in such guile;
Birthed in a ruse of a naturally candid smile.
I enjoyed hearing the saints singing on the highest mount.
The harmony and sweet melodies of hymns, I often recount.
All the men would hum in unison with such passion and a plea.
As the women in the choir sang aloud, with a heavenly glee.

Now, I live my life not as careless, fruitless, and vain;
Our soul and earthly eyes are vigilantly seeking;
Rest assured He will soon return to gather His long-awaited bride;
The contempt towards others in such guile;
Birthed in a ruse of a naturally candid smile.
