All else is trivial between an artisan’s mind and hands. 4) Writing is like laying out a board game and setting up all its pieces, while grammar is the rules by which we play. 5) The writer lays the gravel for the penned road, but it’s the editor who paves it. 6) The gift of literary art is often in the silence between words, where the writer’s restraint meets the reader’s unspoken need.
